Batán (Madrid Metro)
Batán is a station on Line 10 of the Madrid Metro. It is located in Zone A and serves the La Lucero neighborhood of the Latina district.
The station is named after the nearby Parque de Atracciones de Madrid (Madrid Amusement Park), which originally housed a fulling mill (Spanish: batán), a machine used to process wool. The park's name therefore also derives from this historic mill.
Batán station is an underground station with two side platforms. The station is generally known for providing access to the amusement park, as well as the Casa de Campo park and recreational area.
The station was opened on May 10, 2002, as part of the extension of Line 10 from Colonia Jardín to Puerta del Sur.
