Bardo (album)
Bardo is the debut studio album by the American band Kurt Vile & The Violators. It was released in 2009 on Gulcher Records. The album showcases Vile's signature blend of lo-fi, psychedelic folk and indie rock. Many of the tracks feature Vile's characteristic rambling vocals, layered guitar work, and introspective lyrics. While initially released on vinyl, it gained wider recognition as Vile's profile grew. The album is considered a significant early work in his discography, providing a foundation for his later, more polished releases. Key themes explored in the album include alienation, introspection, and the search for meaning. Due to the initial limited release, original copies of the vinyl are considered collectors items.
