Ausserferrera
Ausserferrera is a village in the municipality of Ferrera in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. It is located in the Ferrera Valley (Val Ferrera), a side valley of the Rheinwald (Reinwald) Valley. The village is situated on the Averser Rhine (Reno di Avers) river.
Ausserferrera is known for its remote location and its traditional Walser architecture. The village historically relied on agriculture and mining. In the early 20th century, iron ore was mined in the area. Today, tourism plays a role in the local economy, with hiking and other outdoor activities being popular.
The village is connected to the rest of the valley and to the neighboring Avers Valley by a network of roads. Public transportation is available via PostAuto buses.
