Aue (Leine)
The Aue (Leine) is a small river in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is a left tributary of the Leine.
Course:
The Aue rises near Egestorf, within the Deister-Süntel valley. It flows generally south through the Calenberger Land region, passing through or near the villages and towns of Egestorf, Barsinghausen, Wennigsen, and Hemmingen. It empties into the Leine near Pattensen.
Hydrology:
The Aue's flow is influenced by rainfall and groundwater. Its catchment area is relatively small, leading to fluctuations in water level.
Ecology:
The Aue and its surrounding riparian zone provide habitat for a variety of flora and fauna. Efforts are underway to improve the ecological condition of the river through renaturalization projects.
