Artificial Selection (album)

Artificial Selection is the ninth studio album by American rock band Dance Gavin Dance, released on June 8, 2018, through Rise Records. The album features a more experimental sound and incorporates elements of electronic music, funk, and progressive rock, while still retaining the band's signature post-hardcore sound.

The album's title, Artificial Selection, refers to the Darwinian concept of selective breeding where humans choose which animals or plants to breed based on desired traits. This concept is explored lyrically throughout the album, touching on themes of manipulation, control, and the blurring lines between natural and artificial processes.

Artificial Selection was produced by Kris Crummett, who has worked with Dance Gavin Dance on several previous albums.
