Arfaka
Arfaka is a regency (kabupaten) located in West Papua province, Indonesia. It lies in the northern part of the province, bordering Manokwari Regency to the east, South Manokwari Regency to the south, and Teluk Bintuni Regency to the west. The capital of Arfaka Regency is Anggi. The regency is largely rural and characterized by mountainous terrain and dense rainforest.
The primary economic activities in Arfaka Regency are agriculture and forestry. The local population is predominantly composed of indigenous Papuan peoples, who maintain traditional ways of life. The administrative structure of the regency is organized into districts (distrik).
Arfaka Regency was established in 2013, carved out of the existing Manokwari Regency, as part of efforts to improve local governance and accelerate development in the region. The regency faces challenges related to infrastructure, healthcare, and education accessibility due to its remote location and difficult terrain.
