Anton Waibel

Anton Waibel (1890-1961) was an Austrian National Socialist politician. He served as the Gauleiter of Tyrol-Vorarlberg from 1938 until the end of World War II in 1945. Waibel played a significant role in the implementation of Nazi policies in the region, including persecution of Jews and other minorities. He was also involved in the administration of forced labor camps within his Gau. After the war, he was arrested and convicted of war crimes, serving a prison sentence. His political career and actions are considered representative of the Nazi regime's oppressive nature and its impact on Austria. He was a member of the SS with the rank of Gruppenführer.
