17th Dáil
The 17th Dáil Éireann was the parliament of Ireland elected at the 1961 general election and convened on 12 April 1961. It was dissolved on 6 February 1965 and lasted 1396 days.
The election resulted in a minority government led by Taoiseach Seán Lemass of Fianna Fáil. Fianna Fáil governed in coalition with the National Progressive Democrats from 1963 onwards.
The Ceann Comhairle (Speaker) was Patrick Hogan.
