Zoltán Meskó (American football)
Zoltán Meskó (born March 6, 1986) is a former American football punter. He played college football at the University of Michigan, where he was a three-time All-Big Ten selection. He was drafted by the New England Patriots in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL Draft.
Meskó was born in Timișoara, Romania, and immigrated to the United States with his family at the age of 13. He attended Twinsburg High School in Twinsburg, Ohio, where he excelled in both soccer and football.
At Michigan, Meskó quickly established himself as one of the nation's top punters. He was known for his powerful leg and ability to pin opponents deep in their own territory. He earned All-Big Ten honors in 2007, 2008, and 2009.
During his time with the Patriots (2010-2012), Meskó was a consistent and reliable punter. He set several franchise records, including the highest single-season net punting average. He was released by the Patriots in 2013.
After being released, he had brief stints with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cincinnati Bengals, and San Diego Chargers, but did not appear in any regular season games.
Since his playing career ended, Meskó has been involved in various ventures, including broadcasting and coaching. He has also worked as a kicking consultant.
