Waermund (bishop of Worcester)

Waermund was an 8th-century Bishop of Worcester in Anglo-Saxon England. He served as bishop from 775 until his death, which is recorded in 777. Little is known about Waermund beyond his episcopal dates. His name, meaning "Protector of Truth," is indicative of Anglo-Saxon etymology. He is considered a relatively obscure figure in the history of the Worcester bishopric, with surviving historical records providing limited details about his life or activities during his tenure. He was succeeded by Tilhere.
