The Great American Bash (2006)
The Great American Bash (2006) was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). It took place on July 23, 2006, at the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana and featured wrestlers from the SmackDown! brand. It was the third event in the Great American Bash chronology.
The main event featured Rey Mysterio defending the World Heavyweight Championship against King Booker. Other prominent matches included Batista against Mr. Kennedy, and The Undertaker against The Great Khali in a Punjabi Prison match. The card also included a tag team match between Paul London and Brian Kendrick defending the WWE Tag Team Championship against The Pit Bulls (Kid Kash and Jamie Noble), and a United States Championship match between Bobby Lashley and William Regal.
The event is generally considered to be of average quality, with some matches receiving higher praise than others. The main event, in particular, received criticism. It was the first Great American Bash held after the WWE Brand Extension was effectively ended, allowing wrestlers from both Raw and SmackDown! to appear on each other's shows (although the show primarily featured SmackDown! talent).
