Ten cent coin (Netherlands 1926–1941)

The ten cent coin, also known as a "dubbeltje," circulated in the Netherlands between 1926 and 1941. It was primarily composed of nickel and replaced the silver ten cent coins of the previous Wilhelmina reign. The coin typically featured a lion rampant, the symbol of the Netherlands, on one side. The reverse typically showed the denomination and year of issue, sometimes with an image of Queen Wilhelmina. The precise designs and metallic compositions varied slightly throughout the period, and wartime issues may have been manufactured with alternative materials due to shortages. The dubbeltje was a common and important part of daily commerce during this period. Its production ceased during the German occupation of the Netherlands in World War II.
