Tatra 90

The Tatra 90 was a planned but never produced Czechoslovakian passenger car designed by Tatra in the late 1930s. It was envisioned as a smaller, more affordable alternative to the larger Tatra 87. Led by Hans Ledwinka, the design continued Tatra's tradition of aerodynamic styling and rear-engine placement. The Tatra 90 project was ultimately abandoned due to the onset of World War II and the subsequent changes in Tatra's production priorities. Existing drawings and some components suggest that the vehicle would have featured a streamlined body, likely with a fin extending from the rear, and a smaller air-cooled engine than the Tatra 87. Although never manufactured, the Tatra 90 remains a significant design study in Tatra's history, illustrating their commitment to innovative automotive engineering principles.
