Taserface

Taserface is a fictional character appearing in Marvel Comics, primarily as an antagonist in the Guardians of the Galaxy series. He is a cyborg mercenary from the planet Stark, hailing from a future timeline. Created by Michael Gallagher, he first appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy #30 in March 1993.

In the comics, Taserface is depicted as a power-hungry and often incompetent villain with ambitions to lead the Stark, a technologically advanced race. He frequently clashes with the Guardians of the Galaxy, particularly Vance Astro (Major Victory), due to his aggressive tactics and desire for galactic conquest. His primary powers stem from his cybernetic enhancements, including the ability to generate powerful energy blasts. He frequently proclaims his name as intimidating, despite its perceived silliness by others.

The character gained wider recognition with his portrayal in the 2017 Marvel Cinematic Universe film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, where he was portrayed by Chris Sullivan. In the film, Taserface leads a group of Ravagers who mutiny against Yondu Udonta. He is portrayed as insecure and desperate to be seen as threatening, often shouting his name to assert dominance. The film further satirizes the character's name, highlighting its ridiculousness as a source of mockery within the Ravager community. His devotion to the name becomes a running gag throughout the movie.
