Sinch (band)
Sinch was an American alternative rock band formed in 1999 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The band consisted of vocalist Nate Schaus, guitarist Josh Smith, bassist Jim Dearing, and drummer Dan McKinney. They are best known for their melodic and atmospheric sound, incorporating elements of alternative rock, post-grunge, and emo influences.
Sinch gained a following in the early 2000s through independent releases and regional touring. They signed with Victory Records in 2002 and released their debut album, Silence, that same year. The album received positive reviews and helped to expand their fanbase.
In 2004, Sinch released their second album, Dying of Everything. This album showcased a more mature and polished sound, further solidifying their place in the alternative rock scene. They toured extensively in support of the album, playing shows with bands such as Taking Back Sunday and The Starting Line.
Sinch disbanded in 2006. Following the band's breakup, members pursued various other musical projects. Nate Schaus formed a new band called Driver Era, while other members remained active in the Pittsburgh music scene. Despite their relatively short career, Sinch left a lasting impact on the alternative rock landscape, particularly within the early 2000s emo and post-hardcore scenes. Their music continues to be appreciated by fans of the genre.
