Ross, Skye and Inverness West (Scottish Parliament constituency)

Ross, Skye and Inverness West is a constituency of the Scottish Parliament (Holyrood). It elects one Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) by the first past the post method of election. It is one of ten constituencies in the Highlands and Islands electoral region, which elects seven additional members, in addition to the ten constituency MSPs, to produce a form of proportional representation for the region as a whole.

The constituency was created at the same time as the Scottish Parliament, in 1999, with the name and boundaries of an existing Westminster constituency. However, the boundaries were revised for the 2011 Scottish Parliament election. The current boundaries encompass a large geographic area including much of Wester Ross, the Isle of Skye, and the western parts of Inverness.

The constituency has been held by the Scottish National Party (SNP) since 2011. Prior to that, it was held by the Scottish Liberal Democrats. The area is known for its rugged landscapes, tourism industry, and crofting communities.
