Richard Edgcumbe (died 1562)

Richard Edgcumbe (died 1562) was an English politician and member of Parliament. He was the son of Sir Piers Edgcumbe of Cotehele, Cornwall, and Joan Durnford.

He served as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Totnes in 1542 and for Cornwall in 1559. He inherited the Cotehele estate upon his father's death in 1539.

Richard Edgcumbe married Alice Tremayne, daughter of Thomas Tremayne of Collacombe. They had several children, including Peter Edgcumbe, his heir. His will was proved in 1562. He played a role in the local administration and governance of Cornwall during his lifetime.
