Neya (river)

The Neya is a river in Russia, flowing through the Kostroma Oblast. It is a left tributary of the Unzha River. The Neya is approximately 253 kilometers (157 miles) long, and its drainage basin covers an area of 6,060 square kilometers (2,340 sq mi).

The river's source is in the northern part of the Kostroma Oblast. It flows generally southward through a flat, forested landscape. The Neya freezes over in November and remains ice-covered until April. The river is used for timber floating and local water supply. The town of Neya is located on the banks of the river.
