National Development Council (Taiwan)
The National Development Council (NDC) is an agency of the Executive Yuan of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Its primary function is to formulate overall national development policies, assess major government projects, coordinate among government ministries and agencies, manage national spatial planning, cultivate talent, and promote economic and social development in Taiwan.
The NDC plays a key role in shaping Taiwan's future by:
- Strategic Planning: Developing medium- and long-term national development plans, encompassing economic, social, and environmental considerations.

The NDC is headed by a Minister without Portfolio who is appointed by the Premier of the Executive Yuan. The council is composed of representatives from various government ministries, as well as academics and experts from the private sector. Its decisions and recommendations have a significant impact on the direction of Taiwan's development. The NDC aims to improve the quality of life for citizens and enhance Taiwan's competitiveness in the global arena.
