My Boy (manga)
My Boy (Japanese: 息子がかわいくて仕方がない魔族のお母様, Hepburn: Musuko ga Kawaikute Shikata ga Nai Mazoku no Hahaoya, lit. "My Son is so Cute, His Demonic Mother Can't Help It") is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Pochi Iida. It is serialized on the Nico Nico Seiga website and published by Comic Polaris.
The story revolves around a powerful, yet doting, demon mother named Latina and her adopted human son, Dale. Dale, an orphaned boy, is discovered deep in the woods by Latina and subsequently raised by her. The manga follows their heartwarming everyday life and explores themes of family, love, and cultural differences.
While initially presented as a slice-of-life story, the series later delves into the mysteries surrounding Dale's origins and the potential dangers lurking in the human and demon worlds. The relationship between Latina and Dale is central to the narrative, highlighting the unconditional love and sacrifices a parent makes for their child, regardless of species or background.
My Boy has been adapted into an anime television series produced by Maho Film and EMT Squared, which premiered in July 2019. The anime adaptation further broadened the series' reach and popularity.
