Minna! ESPer Dayo! (TV series)
Minna! ESPer Dayo!, often romanized as Everyone is an ESPer!, is a Japanese comedy-drama television series based on the manga series Esper Dayo! by Kiminori Wakasugi. It was broadcast on TV Tokyo from April to June 2013.
The series follows Yoshiro "Yocchan" Kamogawa, a high school student who suddenly develops the ability to read minds. He discovers that he is not the only one with paranormal abilities, and soon encounters other ESPers, each with their unique powers and quirks, living in his otherwise ordinary town.
The series is known for its absurd humor, over-the-top performances, and frequent use of slapstick comedy and crude jokes. It blends elements of science fiction, comedy, and coming-of-age drama, exploring themes of adolescence, social awkwardness, and the challenges of dealing with extraordinary powers in everyday life.
The show's popularity led to a special episode in 2013, a spin-off miniseries, ESPer, Miyako e Iku! (ESPer Goes to Miyako!), in 2015, and a theatrical film adaptation, Eiga Minna! ESPer Dayo! (Everyone is an ESPer! The Movie), which was released in 2015. The series is directed by Sion Sono and stars Shota Sometani as Yoshiro Kamogawa.
