Mama (river)
The Mama River is a river in Siberia, Russia. It is a left tributary of the Vitim River. The Mama flows through the Irkutsk Oblast and Buryatia.
The river is approximately 406 kilometers (252 miles) long, and its drainage basin covers an area of 18,900 square kilometers (7,300 square miles). The Mama River originates in the Patom Highlands. The river is fed primarily by snow and rain.
The Mama River flows through a sparsely populated area. The main settlement on the river is the town of Mama, which is located near the river's confluence with the Vitim. The river is used for fishing and transportation.
