Lou Holtz

Lou Holtz (born January 6, 1937) is a former American football player, coach, and analyst. He is widely recognized for his successful college football coaching career, particularly his tenure at the University of Notre Dame, where he led the Fighting Irish to a national championship in 1988.

Holtz's coaching career spanned several decades and included head coaching positions at William & Mary, North Carolina State, Arkansas, Minnesota, Notre Dame, and South Carolina. He is known for his motivational skills, strategic game planning, and ability to rebuild struggling football programs. His overall college coaching record stands at 249-132-7.

Beyond his accomplishments on the field, Holtz is also a well-known author and motivational speaker. He has written several books on leadership, teamwork, and achieving success.
