Key West (TV series)
Key West was an American television series that aired on Fox during the 1993 season. The show followed the adventures of Cody Abilene (played by Stephen Dorff), a naive and aspiring novelist from Idaho who wins the lottery and decides to move to Key West, Florida.
Cody quickly finds himself embroiled in the eccentric and often dangerous lives of the island's inhabitants. He becomes entangled with a diverse cast of characters, including Savannah Sumner (played by Jennifer Tilly), a sultry lounge singer; Garcelle (played by Denise Crosby), a mysterious journalist; and Sheriff Clayton Anderson (played by Brian Thompson), the corrupt and power-hungry local law enforcement officer.
The series blended elements of drama, mystery, and comedy. The plots often revolved around Cody's attempts to write his novel while simultaneously navigating the complexities of his new surroundings, exposing corruption, and solving crimes. Its setting provided a vibrant and colorful backdrop to the storylines.
Key West was cancelled after 13 episodes due to low ratings. Despite its short run, it has since garnered a cult following.
