Kemenuh
Kemenuh is a village located in the Sukawati District of Gianyar Regency, Bali, Indonesia. It is situated inland, north of the more heavily touristed areas of southern Bali.
Kemenuh is known for its traditional Balinese crafts, particularly wood carving. Many residents are artisans, and workshops can be found throughout the village. These workshops produce a variety of carved items, including masks, statues of deities, panels, and decorative objects. The artistry often reflects Hindu-Balinese religious themes and traditional Balinese designs.
Tourism plays a role in the Kemenuh economy, as visitors are drawn to the village to purchase handicrafts directly from the artisans. The village offers a glimpse into traditional Balinese life, away from the more bustling tourist centers. The surrounding area is characterized by rice paddies and lush vegetation, offering a peaceful setting.
While wood carving is a prominent feature, agriculture also contributes to the local economy. Rice farming is a common practice in the area.
