John Stephenson (cricketer, born 1965)
John Stephenson (born 25 November 1965) is a former English cricketer. A right-handed batsman and right-arm medium-pace bowler, he played first-class cricket for Sussex and Leicestershire between 1987 and 1997.
Stephenson made his first-class debut for Sussex in 1987 and played for the county until 1990. He then moved to Leicestershire, where he played until his retirement in 1997. In his career, he played 124 first-class matches, scoring 4,407 runs at an average of 26.07, including 4 centuries and 20 half-centuries. He also took 113 wickets at an average of 44.96.
He also played List A cricket, appearing in 132 matches and scoring 2,057 runs at an average of 21.88 with 7 half-centuries. He took 83 List A wickets at an average of 35.33. Following his playing career, he has been involved in coaching.
