Jerry Mahoney (umpire)

Jerry Mahoney was a Major League Baseball umpire who worked in the American League from 1976 to 1999. He wore uniform number 38 for the majority of his career.

Mahoney umpired in two World Series (1983, 1995), three American League Championship Series (1980, 1985, 1997), and the 1989 All-Star Game. He was known for his calm demeanor and consistent strike zone. After retiring from on-field umpiring, he served as a Major League Baseball umpire supervisor.
