Hugh Dane

Hugh Dane (1942 – 2018) was an American character actor known primarily for his comedic roles on television. He was most famous for his portrayal of Hank, the head of Dunder Mifflin's warehouse, on the NBC sitcom The Office.

Dane's acting career spanned over two decades, encompassing both television and film. He frequently appeared in smaller roles, lending his imposing stature and calm demeanor to his characters. Prior to acting, Dane worked in the field of law.

Besides The Office, Dane appeared in numerous other popular television shows, including Curb Your Enthusiasm, Monk, Roc, Boy Meets World, Friends, Martin, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Sister, Sister, Seinfeld, and Everybody Hates Chris. His film credits include Bridesmaids, Little Fockers, and The Even Stevens Movie.

Dane was born in New Haven, Connecticut. He passed away in Los Angeles, California in 2018. His cause of death was pancreatic cancer. He is remembered by his colleagues and fans for his gentle nature and comedic timing.
