Hit Parade (Audio Adrenaline album)
Hit Parade is the eighth studio album by the Christian rock band Audio Adrenaline, released in 2001. The album consists entirely of covers of popular contemporary Christian music (CCM) songs from the 1980s and 1990s. It was intended as a tribute to the songs and artists that had influenced Audio Adrenaline and helped shape the CCM genre.
The tracklist includes well-known songs originally performed by artists such as dc Talk ("Jesus Freak"), Newsboys ("Shine"), Petra ("This Means War"), and Steven Curtis Chapman ("The Great Adventure"). Hit Parade was a commercial success for Audio Adrenaline, reaching the top of the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart. While generally well-received, some critics noted that the covers, while faithful to the originals, didn't always bring a new or unique perspective to the songs. The album served to introduce a new generation to classic CCM tracks and reaffirmed the band's connection to their musical roots.
