Habeco
Habeco, short for Hanoi Beer Alcohol and Beverage Joint Stock Corporation (Tổng Công ty Cổ phần Bia - Rượu - Nước giải khát Hà Nội), is one of Vietnam's largest brewers. The company is state-owned and headquartered in Hanoi.
Habeco traces its origins back to the French colonial era, with the establishment of the Hommel Brewery in Hanoi in 1890. Following the departure of the French, the brewery was nationalized and renamed Hanoi Beer. The company has since grown significantly, modernizing its brewing facilities and expanding its product portfolio.
Habeco's most well-known beer brand is Hanoi Beer (Bia Hà Nội), a popular lager consumed throughout Vietnam. The company also produces other beer brands, including Bia hơi (fresh beer), as well as various alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Habeco plays a significant role in Vietnam's economy, contributing to the national budget and providing employment. The company is actively involved in community development initiatives and supports various social programs. Habeco faces competition from both domestic and international beer brands in the Vietnamese market.
