HNoMS Glommen (1916)

HNoMS Glommen was a Norwegian minelayer of the Glommen class. She was launched in 1916 and served in the Royal Norwegian Navy until the German invasion of Norway in April 1940. During the invasion, Glommen played a role in defending the Oslofjord, primarily laying mines in an attempt to impede the German naval advance. She participated in the Battle of Drøbak Sound. After the initial stages of the invasion, Glommen was scuttled to prevent her capture by German forces. Her sister ship was the HNoMS Laugen. The Glommen class minelayers were important components of Norway's coastal defense strategy in the pre-World War II era.
