Fred Enke (American football)

Fred Enke (born March 28, 1897, died January 27, 1985) was an American football player and coach. He played college football as a quarterback at the University of Arizona from 1920 to 1922. He later served as the head football coach at the University of Arizona from 1931 to 1942, compiling a record of 61–35–6. Enke was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a coach in 1974. His successful tenure at Arizona earned him recognition as one of the most significant figures in the program's history.
