FEAR (terrorist group)
FEAR, an acronym for the Forces of European Anti-Revolution, is a far-right terrorist group active primarily in Europe. Its stated goals typically include the preservation of perceived European cultural and racial identity, and the violent opposition to immigration, multiculturalism, and left-wing political ideologies.
The organization's history is often characterized by fragmented cells and sporadic activity, making it difficult to ascertain its exact size, structure, and operational capacity. FEAR has been linked to various acts of violence, including bombings, arson, and targeted attacks against individuals and institutions perceived as threats to their agenda. These targets have included minority communities, refugee centers, and political opponents.
FEAR’s ideology is rooted in white supremacist and nationalist beliefs. Manifestos and propaganda attributed to the group often express xenophobic and racist sentiments, promoting the idea of a "white genocide" and advocating for the establishment of a homogenous European society. The group is known to utilize online platforms and forums to disseminate its propaganda and recruit new members.
Law enforcement agencies across Europe have actively investigated and disrupted FEAR-related activities, resulting in arrests and convictions of individuals associated with the group. However, its decentralized nature and reliance on online radicalization make it a persistent threat to national security and social cohesion. Understanding the motivations and operational tactics of FEAR is crucial for counter-terrorism efforts and the prevention of future acts of violence.
