Connecticut Open (tennis)
The Connecticut Open was a women's professional tennis tournament held in New Haven, Connecticut, United States. It was a part of the WTA Tour, classified as a Premier-level tournament. It took place annually in August, as part of the US Open Series, a series of tournaments leading up to the US Open Grand Slam event.
The tournament was played on outdoor hard courts at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center at Yale University.
Historically, the Connecticut Open had several names, including the Pilot Pen Tennis tournament. It was a significant event on the women's tennis calendar, attracting top players from around the world.
The tournament was discontinued after the 2018 edition, being replaced on the WTA calendar by a tournament in Zhengzhou, China. Therefore, the Connecticut Open no longer exists.
