Charles Baker (artist)
Charles Baker (1874 – 1958) was a British artist known primarily for his landscape paintings, particularly watercolors and oils. He was also an accomplished etcher. Born in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, England, Baker studied at the Nottingham School of Art. He frequently depicted scenes of the English countryside, with a focus on rural life and architectural subjects, often featuring buildings, farms, and village settings. His work is characterized by a delicate use of color and a meticulous attention to detail. Baker exhibited extensively throughout his career, including at the Royal Academy, the Royal Society of British Artists, and the Walker Art Gallery. He is represented in numerous public and private collections.
