Câmpulung

Câmpulung, also known as Câmpulung Muscel, is a city in Romania, located in the Argeș County. It is situated in the southern foothills of the Carpathian Mountains, along the Râul Târgului River. Historically, Câmpulung was one of the earliest urban settlements in Wallachia and served as its first capital in the 13th and 14th centuries.

Câmpulung boasts a rich history and several significant historical monuments, including the Negru Vodă Monastery, one of the oldest monastic complexes in Romania, traditionally associated with the legendary founder of Wallachia.
