Borough 6 (Düsseldorf)

Borough 6, also known as Stadtbezirk 6, is an administrative district of Düsseldorf, the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is one of ten boroughs in the city.

Borough 6 encompasses the following districts (Stadtteile): Lichtenbroich, Unterrath, Rath, Mörsenbroich.

As a borough, Stadtbezirk 6 has a local council (Bezirksvertretung) elected by the residents of the borough. The Bezirksvertretung advises the city council (Stadtrat) on matters concerning the borough and has a degree of autonomy in local affairs. Its responsibilities include local planning, infrastructure, and community services.

Borough 6 is characterized by a mix of residential areas, commercial zones, and green spaces. It is located in the northern part of Düsseldorf. Due to its proximity to Düsseldorf Airport (DUS), a portion of the borough includes areas with air traffic-related infrastructure and regulations. The borough is well-connected to the city center and surrounding areas by public transportation.
