Bog (film)
Bog is a 1979 American horror film directed by Don Keeslar. The film is also known under the alternate titles Boggy Creek II and Return to Boggy Creek. It is not related to the The Legend of Boggy Creek franchise, despite the similar titles and subject matter.
The film centers around a group of college students who travel to a remote swamp in Florida to study rare plant life. While there, they encounter a monstrous creature, the "bog monster," which terrorizes and attacks them. The students must then fight for survival against the creature in the swamp.
Bog is considered a low-budget, independent horror film. It is known for its use of practical effects and creature makeup, as well as its slow pacing and reliance on atmosphere to create suspense. The film received largely negative reviews upon its release and is generally considered a B-movie. Its plot is reminiscent of other "creature feature" films of the era, focusing on the dangers lurking in unexplored wilderness.
