Billy Jackson (boxer)

Billy Jackson (born c. 1916, died December 10, 1980) was an American boxer who competed professionally from 1937 to 1948. Jackson fought primarily as a middleweight, though he also competed in light heavyweight and welterweight contests. He was known for his aggressive style and punching power. While he never won a world title, he fought many notable opponents of his era, including Tony Zale, Georgie Abrams, and Rocky Graziano. Jackson's career record includes a number of wins against ranked fighters, contributing to his reputation as a tough and durable competitor. He retired from boxing in 1948. Details about his life outside of the ring remain scarce, but his impact on the boxing scene during the late 1930s and 1940s is recognized within boxing historical records. He died at the age of 64, and is buried in Long Island National Cemetery.
