BIOCEV
BIOCEV is a large-scale research infrastructure in the Czech Republic, focused on biomedicine and biotechnology. It stands for "Biotechnology and Biomedicine Centre of the Academy of Sciences and Charles University in Vestec".
The BIOCEV centre aims to translate basic research findings into practical applications for human and animal health. It focuses on several key areas: functional genomics, structural biology, protein technologies, cell biology and immunology, biomaterials and tissue engineering, and neurosciences.
The project is a joint initiative of six institutes of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and two faculties of Charles University in Prague. It provides state-of-the-art facilities and technologies for researchers, fostering collaboration and innovation in the fields of life sciences. The centre is located in Vestec, near Prague. Its purpose is to contribute significantly to the understanding of diseases, the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, and ultimately, to improve the quality of life.
