Andy Moog
Andy Moog (born February 18, 1960) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. He played 18 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Edmonton Oilers, Boston Bruins, Dallas Stars, and Montreal Canadiens.
Moog is perhaps best known for his time with the Edmonton Oilers dynasty of the 1980s, where he shared goaltending duties with Grant Fuhr. Together, they backstopped the Oilers to three Stanley Cups in 1984, 1985, and 1987. Moog was a key contributor to the Oilers' success, known for his butterfly style and quick reflexes.
After leaving the Oilers, Moog played for the Boston Bruins, where he continued to be a top goaltender, helping lead the Bruins to two Stanley Cup Finals appearances in 1988 and 1990. He later played for the Dallas Stars and concluded his career with the Montreal Canadiens.
Moog was a four-time NHL All-Star (1984, 1986, 1988, 1991) and represented Canada in several international competitions, including the Canada Cup. After retiring from professional hockey, Moog became involved in coaching and hockey development. He is regarded as one of the most successful goaltenders of his era.
