Amanuban
Amanuban is a region and a former kingdom located in West Timor, Indonesia, part of the South Central Timor Regency (Kabupaten Timor Tengah Selatan). It is one of the three traditional kingdoms of the Mollo people, the others being Amanatun and Molo itself. Historically, Amanuban held significant political and cultural influence in the region, with its rulers often playing a crucial role in inter-kingdom relations and interactions with colonial powers, particularly the Dutch. The area is known for its traditional Timorese culture, including unique weaving traditions, social structures, and agricultural practices. While the traditional kingdoms no longer hold formal political power, they continue to be important symbols of cultural identity and heritage for the local population. The economy of Amanuban is primarily based on agriculture, with maize and livestock being important resources.
