Alan Wilson (motorsport)

Alan Wilson is a motorsport circuit designer and former racing driver. He is known for designing numerous race tracks and road courses around the world, primarily in North America, but also in countries such as China and South Africa.

Wilson's designs often incorporate elements of classic European circuits and are noted for their challenging layouts and emphasis on driver skill. He frequently prioritizes safety in his designs, employing ample run-off areas and innovative barrier systems.

Some of his notable track designs include Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama, Miller Motorsports Park (now Utah Motorsports Campus) in Utah, and Motorsports Ranch Cresson in Texas. He has also been involved in the design and renovation of existing circuits, such as Daytona International Speedway and Road Atlanta.

Prior to his career as a track designer, Wilson was a successful racing driver, primarily in sports car racing.
