Adventure (1946 film)

Adventure is a 1946 American romantic drama film directed by Victor Fleming and starring Clark Gable and Greer Garson. It was Gable's first film after returning from military service in World War II.

The film tells the story of Harry Patterson (Gable), a boisterous and independent merchant mariner, who meets and falls in love with Marcela Dubroc (Garson), a quiet and devout librarian, while on shore leave in San Francisco during wartime. Their vastly different personalities and approaches to life create conflict and challenge their burgeoning relationship.

The supporting cast includes Joan Blondell, Thomas Mitchell, and John Qualen. Adventure was based on the 1937 novel "The Anointed" by Clyde Brion Davis.
