The Sea Nymphs (album)
The Sea Nymphs is the self-titled debut and only studio album by the English experimental rock group The Sea Nymphs, a side project of the band Cardiacs. It was originally recorded in 1992 but remained unreleased until 1998. The album is known for its intricate arrangements, pastoral and psychedelic soundscapes, and layered vocal harmonies. It is considered a significant work in Cardiacs' extended musical universe and a prime example of their distinctive art-pop style. Key members involved in the album's creation were Tim Smith, Sarah Smith, and William D. Drake. The album features a mix of short, interconnected pieces and longer, more developed songs, exploring themes of nature, childhood, and the surreal. Its release was met with critical acclaim, praised for its originality and inventive musicality.
