Ted Turner (guitarist)
Ted Turner (guitarist) was the stage name of David Alan Turner, a British rock musician best known as one of the guitarists for the band Wishbone Ash. He was a founding member of the group, joining in 1969 and remaining until 1974.
Turner's signature guitar work, alongside Andy Powell, was a defining element of Wishbone Ash's sound, particularly their pioneering use of twin lead guitars. He is credited with contributing significantly to the band's distinctive melodic and harmonious style.
He left Wishbone Ash in 1974, citing musical differences. Following his departure, Turner embarked on a solo career, releasing albums such as Ted Turner and Return to the Origins. He also explored spiritual and philosophical pursuits.
Turner rejoined Wishbone Ash for a period between 1987 and 1995, participating in several tours and albums. Since then, he has continued to pursue his solo work and collaborate with other musicians. He is regarded as an influential guitarist in the development of rock music, particularly in the realm of twin lead guitar playing.
