Sarpanch

A Sarpanch is the elected head of a Gram Panchayat, a village-level statutory institution of local self-government in India. The Sarpanch represents the Gram Panchayat and is responsible for leading its activities and ensuring the implementation of government schemes and policies at the village level. The office is part of the Panchayati Raj system, a three-tier system of local governance designed to empower rural communities.
