Randy Pie

Randy Pie was a German rock band formed in 1972 in Hamburg. They are primarily known for their progressive rock and hard rock sound, incorporating elements of jazz fusion into their music. The band consisted of founding members Randy California (guitar, vocals, previously of Spirit) and Bruno Frenzel (bass). Other notable members included Peter Franken (drums), and later, Werner Becker (vocals) and Achim Reichel (guitar).

Randy Pie released several albums throughout the 1970s, including Randy Pie (1974), Kicking the B Side (1975), Highway Driver (1976), and Fast Forward (1978). Their music was characterized by complex arrangements, strong musicianship, and a blend of rock genres. While the band achieved some success in Germany and Europe, they did not attain widespread international recognition. Randy Pie disbanded in the late 1970s, with members pursuing various solo projects and collaborations. Randy California later returned to work with Spirit, while other members continued to be involved in the German music scene.
