Ghorepani

Ghorepani is a village located in the Myagdi District of Nepal, within the Annapurna Conservation Area. It is a popular stop on the Annapurna Base Camp trek and the Annapurna Circuit trek, known primarily for Poon Hill, a vantage point offering panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges, especially at sunrise.

The village itself consists primarily of guesthouses (teahouses) catering to trekkers. These provide accommodation and meals. The economy of Ghorepani is heavily reliant on tourism.

Ghorepani sits at an altitude of approximately 2,860 meters (9,383 feet). Due to its altitude, the climate is cool and can be quite cold, especially during the winter months.

The name "Ghorepani" translates roughly to "horse water," likely derived from the area's historical use as a watering place for horses and mules transporting goods across the region.
