Police Story 2 (2007 film)

Police Story 2 is a 2007 Hong Kong action crime thriller film directed by Benny Chan and starring Jackie Chan. While bearing the same English title as the 1988 film Police Story 2, it is unrelated to that earlier film in terms of plot and characters, aside from Jackie Chan’s role as a police officer. The Chinese title is Sun Tin Dak Ging (simplified Chinese: 썬틴딱깅; traditional Chinese: 썬틴딱깅), which translates to New Police Story.

The film revolves around a troubled police officer named Chan Kwok-Wing (Jackie Chan), who is haunted by the death of his team at the hands of a gang of criminals led by the ruthless Joe Kwan (Daniel Wu). Depressed and battling alcoholism, Chan teams up with a younger, more idealistic partner, Fong Yik-Wa (Nicholas Tse), to bring Joe and his gang to justice.

The film departs from the comedic tone of the original Police Story series, taking a darker and more dramatic approach. It explores themes of guilt, redemption, and the pressures faced by police officers in modern society.
